AI Decoded: A Crash Course in AI Fundamentals
A free, interactive 6-lesson course that explains how AI actually works — designed for curious professionals who want real fluency, not just buzzwords.
Overview
Most explanations of AI sit at one of two extremes: hand-wavy hype, or dense math that assumes a CS background. AI Decoded is the middle path — a single-page interactive course that takes a curious professional from “what is AI?” to a working mental model of neural networks, large language models, and agents, without requiring any prior technical knowledge.
I built it while preparing for interviews in the AI space — partly to sharpen my own understanding, partly to prove a point: the same instructional design that makes K–12 curriculum effective makes AI concepts click for adults too. Each lesson is scaffolded, checked for understanding, and gated so learners can’t skip ahead without actually getting it.
What the Course Covers
- Lesson 1 — What is AI? Framing the field and its core ideas
- Lesson 2 — Neural networks & deep learning
- Lesson 3 — LLMs & transformers
- Lesson 4 — Prompt engineering
- Lesson 5 — RAG, fine-tuning & embeddings
- Lesson 6 — AI agents & what’s next
The Key Insight
Understanding AI isn’t about memorizing definitions — it’s about building accurate mental models you can reason with. So instead of passive reading, every lesson pairs plain-language explanation with expandable deep dives for the curious and a knowledge check that has to be passed before the lesson counts as complete. The design teaches the way I believe adults actually learn technical concepts: incrementally, actively, and with room to go deeper on demand.
